Visa x NFL — NFL Zone in Fortnite

I partnered with Visa and the NFL to launch NFL Zone, a persistent metaverse activation inside Fortnite , designed to engage Gen Z audiences through immersive, interactive fan experiences.

Built within Fortnite’s sandbox environment, NFL Zone offers a rich blend of branded entertainment and community engagement:

  • Social Hub: A central gathering space featuring virtual tailgates and a Visa-sponsored stadium, designed to foster social interaction among fans.

  • Team-Inspired Maps: Custom maps themed to NFL teams — launching with the San Francisco 49ers, and later expanding to the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants — offered location-specific gameplay.

  • Mini-Games: Interactive games like “Blitz the Bag” (tag-style) and “Seek and Sack” (a modified search-and-destroy format) provided dynamic play and replay value.

  • Persistent Experience: Unlike time-limited activations, NFL Zone was designed as a long-term experience, allowing for continuous fan engagement and content updates.

Visa’s role as official payment services partner was seamlessly woven throughout the activation via branded environments and mini-game sponsorships — reinforcing its position at the intersection of sports, culture, and digital innovation.

I led the end-to-end creative strategy and experience design, aligning brand objectives with platform-native behaviors to ensure the program resonated authentically with Fortnite’s global audience.
